For this week, I was focused on implementing a fire escape to one of the buildings based on critiques, and texturing the buildings. The fire escape mentioned was not as difficult as I imagined, although it did require some inventive UV style. I believe it lead to an interesting model, and that the textures will do well on such a low poly model.
Unfortunately, I did not leave myself much time to texture this week, and as a result ended with less work done than anticipated. I spent too much time ruminating on decisions about the scene, and did not spend enough time in the software actually testing it. I created a sort of balcony for the fire escape project, and I plan to add another tiled window and a set of stairs next week to complete the model. I may also duplicate the entire thing to create another floor, and translate it up with tiling UVs, but I am still deciding on my scope this week.
I have not begun modeling the props of my scene yet, but I believe I now have a good vision for which props I plan to use for the scene. I want to tell a story with my props, so I plan to add specific items that imply certain aspects of the scene's story. I have begun texturing, as you can see above, but I have not progressed as much as I would have liked to. This is due to my own faults, and I plan to majorly progress next week with both texturing and modeling.
