This week, I began collecting a list of exactly which props I would prioritize, and completed the Barrels and Propane tank you see here. The barrels were created out of cylinders which were extruded, beveled, and scaled. the first is meant to be a sort of used oil drum, the second a hazard waste bin, and the third a more portly barrel, such as the water barrels used to mitigate damage in accidents on highways

I was most proud of my propane model this week. I found a useful tutorial on Youtube for the rail guard bit, and may even add some more detail in the future. As for what didn't go as planned this week, there were two main ideas. The first was a hose to go with the propane tank, created using curves in Maya 2024. However, I had trouble getting them to do what I want, so I decided to hold off on the idea until I had a better understanding of curves, since I would like the hose to look connected to the tank itself, not just on the ground next to it.
The other major issue was the street texturing. I tried to change my vertex colors between the sidewalk, street, and all other areas on the floor, but the flood mechanic only worked sometimes, and often had issues, so I decided to prioritize the props early in the process.
