While this past week was a little difficult due to some scheduling conflicts with other classes, I was able to accomplish my goals for the final project. Namely, the modeling and UVing. Although, I will admit that all of my difficulties faced this week are the fault of me and me alone.
In another class, I had a final project to work on simultaneously, but I had not checked the fine print close enough. I thought that the project in that class was due either on finals week or this week. Thus, last Monday when a groupmate of mine informed me our final (Which I had not touched in the slightest) was due that Thursday, most of the work week went into fixing that issue. This left me only the weekend to work on this final project. I mention this not as some excuse, but merely as context.
This week, I made great use of the skills I have learned to adapt to problems I faced. Specifically, I was very diligent in my placement of the pivot points on my models, making it much, much easier to assemble my building. The only outliers in this regard are the large piece shown below, which only appears twice and should be placed by hand, rather than by snap-to-grid. This may be a small accomplishment to some, but I am proud of myself for the foresight I was able to put forth in this regard. I feel as though I am actually learning and progressing in this class.
As for the modeling, I was able to model and UV quite well, and was able to get back into a rhythm quite easily. The only part I had not accounted for was the roof. For this, I decided to create a somewhat quick solution manipulating a cube with multi-cut and extrude. At the time of writing this, I have all of my UVs done, just not put into layouts for texturing.
