VW Bus

For this post, I will be discussing my process of working on the Volkswagen bus project, henceforth referred to as the VW Bus. We were given a VW Bus 3d model in Autodesk Maya 2020, and instructed to name the individual components that made up the models, UV the models to prepare for texturing, then texture the models using substance painter and create a Micro scene. This also means creating a few models myself, which I also name, UV, and texture. Then, I render the entire scene in unity, and submit the entire package. Below, you can see my finished product.

This project proposed an interesting challenge, since the overall bus was made up of so many models, the UVing, Naming, and texturing process was clearly going to take quite some time. Unfortunately, I did not dedicate enough time to this project. I had underestimated the size of the assignment, and after spending some time naming components for later UVing, I took a long hiatus from working on this assignment.  As you can see, there are no extra props in this scene. This is because I did not leave myself enough time to create the props, let alone enough time to prepare them for the scene. I regret this greatly, since even though I was rushed when texturing the bus, I was fairly happy with the way it came out. And with more time dedicated to the project, I believe I may have been able to create a visually-appealing and interesting scene.
