This week, I focused on gathering reference and blocking out the scene. I acquired many different pieces of art which reflect my desired buildings, or some aspect of them, and they are shown below. I enjoy the style of the more symmetrical buildings, with windows running up the entire outside, but I also enjoy the design of the two buildings of different sizes next to each other, so I am torn as to exactly what I wish to create. My current plan is to create one or more of each, since it could help add variety to the scene, and make the small cityscape feel more interesting. I also would like to add some trees to the scene, but this is more of a want than a need, since my original vision could be achieved without any vegetation.

My vision is for the scene to depict a small survivor camp, littered with different props to tell a story. I have begun the reference process for my props, and gathered a few pictures for them below. I tried to look for pictures with lots of different objects I haven't created before, both to challenge myself and to fill the scene well.

My priorities include ensuring the props I select will fit a story to be told, selecting a solid building type for my surrounding city, and making certain I can use the previous props from 320. On that note, I have found my old props on older hardware, and while it may take a bit more time than anticipated, I will certainly be able to use them for this assignment. For my other props, I wish to tell a story of somebody who has struggled in this world. I have taken inspiration from my previous props, since I had a can of gas and a wooden pallet, which could be used for vehicle fuel and campfires respectively. In this vein, I wish to use my other props to show some sign of struggle, whether it be to keep the "protagonist" alive or to keep others alive.
